Sunday Smoothie: avocado&grapes

There is one reason I love fall: grapes. And, though summer is still around, yesterday I found some giant sweet white grapes. And to continue last's week green smoothie, I combined them with some avocado. Can I just say DELICIOS?!

Ingredients: 1 cup sweet yogurt, 1 medium avocado, 2 cups grapes, 1 spoon honey

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Kiwi&Pistachio

I was looking through my smoothie collection and saw that I have so many pink/red/orange one, but just a few green. So I looked for some green fruits and nuts to make this Sunday's smoothie and came up with kiwi, pistachio and a hint of mint.

Ingredients: 1 cup sweet yogurt, 1/2 banana, 2 kiwis, 1/2 cup pistachio with their shells removed, 1 spoon honey, 1 handful fresh mint leaves

This is it, green-ish smoothie :)
Enjoy your Sunday.

Sunday Smoothie: Seasonal fruits

This Sunday took me by surprise, meaning I did't go shopping for new interesting nuts, berries or other interesting fruits to mix. But this became such a tradition in our home, that I couldn't start my Sunday without a smoothie. So I went to the fridge and grabbed everything I had in there that looked like a fruit and blend them together. Guess what? It was yummy as always :)

Ingredients: 1 cup sweet yogurt, 1 cup melon, 1/2 cup sour cherries, 1/2 blueberries

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Gooseberries & Redcurrant

It's Sunday and we are back to berries. Remember the blackcurrant smoothie when I was amazed how many berries are in this world? Well I'm back with some more. I actually had a hard time finding how these are called in English but finally got it: Gooseberries. Funny name, huh? A few weeks ago my grandma brought me this plastic casserole full of gooseberries and redcurrant. She said their season is ending and it's the last harvest. So I ate a few right there because I couldn't help myself but then decided to freeze the others for what I knew it will be a yummy smoothie. If you don't have these in your own garden I hope you can find them at your local market because they are incredibly good.

Ingredients: 2 cups sweet yogurt, 1/2 cup gooseberries, 1/2 cup redcurrant, 3 spoons honey

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Plain Ol' Watermelon

August must be the best month of the year for one good reason: watermelon season. I could eat tons of watermelon for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And don't forget drinks: juice, cocktails, lemonades and of course smoothies. You did't think I was gonna skit watermelon, did you? Here it is, with some sour cherries add on just because I had them in the freezer.

Ingredients: 3 cups watermelon, 1 cup sweet yogurt. Optional: sour cherries and some honey if your watermelon is not the sweetest.

Enjoy your sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Blackcurrant

Did you ever know there are so many berries in the world? Some of them even poisonous? (of course I'm not going to blend some of those today). Having grandparents in the countryside it is very easy for me to get access to all those types and fortunately we are in full berries season. Today: blackcurrant. They have a high content of vitamin C, potassium and iron and a very strong flavor which can be settled with some extra honey. Would you try them in a smoothie?

Ingredients: one banana chopped, one cup blackcurrant, one cup sweet yogurt, 2 spoons honey

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Mulberries

Have you ever tried a mulberry? No, not the bag, although they are quite some pieces. I am talking about those black or white berries with a subtle sweet taste. Here, the mulberry trees grown on the side of the road, and in May the sidewalks are covered in a mulberries carpet. I love mulberries so much, they remind me of my early childhood, so I had to make a smoothie with them. I kept it simple because their taste is not that bold and I didn't want to spoil it with other ingredients.

Ingredients: 2 cups mulberries, 1 spoon honey, 1 cup sweet yogurt

Enjoy your Sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Summer Wine

I don't know if you realized this by now, but I am a huge Lana del Rey fan. I find her songs very artistic and they have a calming effect on me. Though I never thought that I could find inspiration for my next smoothie in one of her songs, here it is:

If you listen to the lyrics you'll find the ingredients of today's smoothie :) Only thing is that I had to replace the angel kisses/meregues with marshmellows 'cause I couldn't find any. But they made the smoothie so fluffy that I am glad I picked them. And I added some goji berries to make it more red and healthy.

Ingredients: 1 cup sweet yogurt, 1 cup strawberries, 1 cup cherries, 1/2 cup goji berries, 7 marshmellows

Enjoy your Sunday.

Sunday Smoothie: Very Berry

I just found this smoothie that I completely forgot about. I made it a while ago and I just remembered how delicious it was. And using frozen berries made it like an ice cream. So go ahead, indulge yourself with a healthy yummy smoothie.

Ingredients: 2 cups frozen berries(strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, currant, blackcurrant, raspberries), 1 cup sweet yogurt.

Enjoy your sunday!

Sunday Smoothie: Peaches&Mango

I've been waiting for peaches forever. They are my second favorite summer fruits, after watermelons. And when they finally hit the market stands I grabbed a handful of them and threw them in the blender. So I've made a peach-mango smoothie for today.

Ingredients: 2 peaches chopped, 1 mango chopped, 1 cup sweet yogurt, 2 spoons honey

Have a peachy Sunday!
Love,

Sunday Smoothie: Summertime Happiness

I'm sure that if Lana would have tasted this smoothie her song would have been called summertime happiness. Ok, I'm bragging, but really, this smoothie is crazy yummy and so perfect for a hot summer day. It has all those summer-ish ingredients.

Ingredients: one cup strawberries, one banana, two scoops vanilla ice cream, two spoons honey, 5 mint leaves, one cup sweet yogurt.

Enjoy your Sunday!
Love,
L.

PS.: I'm sorry for the quality of the photos, I forgot my camera charger at my parents house and had to shoot with my little phone.

Sunday Smoothie: Avocado & Banana

After a couple of crazy combos it is time to get back to a classic. So this Sunday we have the avocado and banana smoothie. One thing I discovered drinking this one is that the avocado really enhances the banana. So you won't feel the avocado very but, but rather a buttery banana taste

Ingredients: 1 avocado chopped, 1 banana, 1 cup sweet yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey

Enjoy your Sunday,
L.

Sunday Smoothie: After Eight

Do you like After Eight chocolates? You know that crazy good chocolate mint combo? Well, I thought I could make a smoothie out of that mix. And you know what? It turned out quite delicious. Now I know I could have just mixed some After Eights with some milk and make a smoothie, but here we try to keep it as healthy as possible so here's what I've used:
Va place ciocolata After Eight? A iesit chiar foarte bun. Acum, stiu ca as fi putut sa  amestec direct niste After Eight cu lapte si sa fac un smoothie, dar aici incercam sa pastram ingredientele cat de cat sanatoase deci iata ce am folosit:

Ingredients: 80g 85% dark chocolate, 10-12 mint leaves, 2 spoons honey, 1 cup sweet yogurt
Ingrediente: 80g ciocolata neagra 85%, 10-12 frunze de menta, 2 linguri de miere, 1 cana de iaurt dulce

Sunday Smoothie: Crazy Nuts

As I said last week, I am trying to find new ingredients to mix in my Sunday Smoothies, so this Sunday is crazy nuts time. This smoothie is insanely good because it is full of nuts and seeds and it will sure boost your day. It's rich, creamy and oh so good!

Ingredients: 2 spoonfuls peanut butter, 1/4 cup raw almonds, 1/4 walnuts, 1 spoon flax seeds, 1 spoon goji berry, 1 spoon honey, 1 cup almond milk

Ready for a new day? Enjoy it!
Sunteti gata pentru o noua zi? Bucurati-va de ea!

Sunday Smoothie: Beets&Strawberries/Sfecla&Capsuni

Wandering through markets I realized I ran out of fruits to blend in my smoothies. I have tried all seasonal fruits, some exotic ones, dried fruits and some nuts but what else? Well...veggies, to be more precise, beets. I once made some roasted beets with honey that was insanely delicious so I imagined it would work well as a smoothie. And it did, together with some strawberries for sweetness. And I have to say that this is surely the prettiest smoothie...just look how hot that pink is!!!

Ingredients: 1 cup boiled, chopped beets, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1 cup sweet yogurt, 1 spoon honey
Ingrediente: 1 cana sfecla fiarta si taiata, 1/2 cana capsuni, 1 cana iaurt dulce, 1 lingura de miere

Sunday Smoothie: Dates & Pistachio / Curmale si Fistic

I am a fan of dried fruits and earlier this week, I found this crazy sweet block of dates and pistachio. So obviously I had to put them in a smoothie, see what comes out. And it was a super rich, creamy and sweet smoothie, probably the best I've made so far. Even if you can't find this mix already made, you can get dates and pistachio separately. And you should give it a try.

Ingredients: 1/2 cup dates, pits removed, 1/4 cup pistachio, shell removed, 1 cup sweet yogurt.
Ingrediente: 1/2 cana de curmale fara sambure, 1/4 cana de fistic fara coaja, 1 cana de iaurt dulce
Don't add any kind of sweetener because the dates are already extremely sweet.

Sunday Smoothie: Banana&Pear / Banane&Pere

If you are as lucky as me and you have grandparents living in the countryside and they have an orchard, than you know the real taste of pears, juicy and sweet. I want to bring that early autumn taste in today's smoothie.

Ingrediente: 2 pere, 2 banane, o cana de iaurt dulce, o lingura de miere, o lingura de musli
Ingredients: 2 pears, 2 bananas, une cup sweet yogurt, one spoon honey, one spoon granola

Sunday Smoothie: Banana&Blueberry

A few days ago I bumped into some fresh blueberries that weren't costing a fortune so I felt much obliged to add them to my shopping cart. Blueberries are one of my favorites to eat in any form, jam, syrup, muffins, pancakes, steak sauce, except as they are. So I decided to throw them in a mauve smoothie.

Ingrediente: 1/2 cana afine proaspete, 1 cana iaurt dulce, 2 banane, 1 lingura miere, musli pentru decor
Ingredients: 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, 1 cup sweet yogurt, 2 bananas, 1 tablespoon honey, granola for garnish

De fiecare data cand vad afine imi aduc aminte de secventa din Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Sper sa nu imi iau si eu zborul :D
Every time I see blueberries I think about the scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Let's hope I won't blow up and fly :D

Sunday Smoothie: Banane & Pepene/ Banana & Melon

If you went through my blog posts before you probably know that my favorite seasons is summer. Besides chocolate ice cream and mint lemonade there is one more thing I can't live without in summer: melon. Watermelons, cantaloupe, seedless or not you can always find it in my fridge. Even if we still have a little to wait for summer it doesn't mean we can't spoil ourselves with a banana melon smoothie to remember us why is summer so great.

Ingredients: 2 bananas, 4 slices of melon; 1 cup sweet yogurt, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp granola to garnish

Sunday Smoothie: Caise&Migdale/Apricots&Almonds

Ever since I was a kid my granny is making an extraordinary apricot jam. It is my favorite jam and I could eat it not only in crepes or with bread, but straight from the jar. What makes it so special is that my grandma puts in it 5-6 apricot pits (their core, not the hard shell) so you have a crunchy surprise when you eat it. But because the apricots seasons is not even near and I can't put my hands on any fresh apricots I will use dried apricots and raw almonds. It will be a very thick, rich and sweet smoothie.

Ingrediente: 200gr caise uscate, 100gr migdale crude, 1 cana de iaurt dulce
Atentie!
Ingredients: 200gr dried apricots, 100gr raw almonds, 1 cup sweet yogurt
Attention! Because it is very thick these quantities are for 4 servings
